In this concert, Karin Cuéllar Rendón & Byron Schenkman explore the music of Hélène de Montgeroult (1764-1836), Julie Candeille (1767-1834), Franz Shubert (1797-1828) and Pedro Ximenez Abrill Tirado (1784-1856) whose music–composed for the intimacy of the nineteenth century salon in Paris, Vienna and Sucre during different historical, political and cultural contexts–displays unmeasured virtuosity and fantasy.
