Experience a once-in-a-lifetime evening of cultural richness and musical exhilaration. International morin khuur soloist Monkho joins the Lexington Symphony for an unforgettable performance of Daron Hagen’s Morin Khuur Concerto No. 2, showcasing the haunting beauty of Mongolia’s national instrument—recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. The program also features Colin McPhee’s Tabuh-Tabuhan, a vibrant, gamelan-inspired toccata for two pianos and orchestra, and concludes with Stravinsky’s kaleidoscopic ballet score Petrushka.
