A celebration of this place 3A has called home for 40 years, presented in partnership with World Forestry Center– The Third Angle Ensemble of string quartet + clarinet will perform 3A commissions inspired by the Pacific Northwest paired with poetry recited by former Oregon Poet Laureate Kim Stafford.
The program includes
The Evergreen by Caroline Shaw, a string quartet offering to one elder tree on Swiikw (Galiano Island), British Columbia;
Perpetual Spring by Dai Fujikura, a framing of the quiet powers of nature whose roots crack asphalt and concrete walls;
Evening Prayer by Quinn Mason, a tranquil wish for better times; and
a world première composition by 3A Violist Wendy Richman.
