Then, the evening culminates with British composer Edward Elgar’s beloved Enigma Variations. Each variation reveals a vivid musical portrait—by turns tender, playful, noble, and transcendent—woven together by the composer’s appropriately "enigmatic" theme. From whispers to the grandeur of “Nimrod,” this cinematic work, featured in many iconic films, speaks to the human spirit.
