A Far Cry hits the road this spring with a program that depicts the American landscape and identity through sound. At its heart is Copland’s Appalachian Spring whose vision of hope and renewal feels newly urgent. Beethoven’s Pastorale Symphony No. 6 closes the program with jubilance, connection, and reverence for the natural world.

Program:

Shelley Washington | SAY
Aaron Copland | Appalachian Spring - Suite for 13 Instruments
Ludwig van Beethoven | Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, (Pastorale)
