Chicago Tribune Jazz Artist of the Year Isaiah Collier returns to The Old Church Concert Hall on October 1, 2026, with Collier Plays Coltrane, a program exploring the music and legacy of John Coltrane through Collier's own artistic perspective. Known for connecting the spiritual and exploratory traditions of jazz with a contemporary voice, Collier brings new insight to the work of one of the music's most influential figures. Presented in collaboration with 89.1 KMHD – Jazz Without Boundaries and Portland jazz venue The 1905, this performance celebrates a shared commitment to keeping jazz vibrant and evolving. TOC concert hall is housed in a beloved historic landmark in Portland’s West End creative and cultural district. Saved from demolition by community activists and volunteers in 1968, TOC was built in the carpenter gothic style in 1862 and is on the National Register of Historic places.
