About

The Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico, was founded by Florence Dibell Bartlett and opened to the public in 1953. The original building, a gift to the state from Bartlett, was designed by renowned New Mexico architect John Gaw Meem.

The museum is located on Museum Hill in Santa Fe, sharing Milner Plaza with the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture. Adjacent institutions include the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art, and the Santa Fe Botanical Garden.

The Museum of International Folk Art is recognized as the home to the world's largest collection of international folk art, with more than 135,000 artifacts.
