About
The United Parish in Brookline is a historic church built in 1873 and designed by renowned architect Edward Tuckerman Potter in the High Victorian Gothic style, featuring detailed stonework and a prominent bell tower. Originally constructed for the Harvard Congregational Church, the building became home to United Parish in 1970, when three Protestant congregations—Harvard Church (UCC), St. Mark’s Methodist, and The Baptist Church in Brookline—merged to form one ecumenical community. A longstanding landmark in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner, the church has recently received funding to restore its aging masonry and tower, ensuring its continued presence in the neighborhood.
