About

Originally built in 1891 as the National Guard Armory Annex, The Armory became the home of Portland Center Stage in 2006, after a $36.1 million renovation. It was the first building on the National Register of Historic Places, and the first performing arts facility in the country, to achieve the US Green Building Council’s LEED Platinum rating. Around 160,000 patrons visit The Armory each year to attend more than 400 performances in its two theaters; roughly 13,000 of these annual visitors are from outside the Portland area.

The U.S. Bank Main Stage seats 590 people, including 515 seats on the orchestra level and 75 seats in the balcony. Shaped in a comfortable "continental" style (with no center aisles), the seating features generous leg room and great sight lines.

The Ellyn Bye Studio is a "black box" theater that seats up to 199 people and is located two floors below the U.S. Bank Main Stage. While every seat in this intimate space has a good view of the stage.
